What we’re dealing with is the ability to power your house, off grid, with a contraption about the size of a toaster oven. If this was available the electric companies would go out of business and they don’t want that to happen. It’s inevitable…

you lost me on the government hiding technology to protect the oil and gas industry. If there was such a technology that could power our over-consumptive lifestyle, the government would release it and profit from it by controlling it’s presence in our lives.

Modern day autos are oil dependent. If there is some magic alien fuel, it won’t work with our cars the way they are. We would have to buy new cars that run on alien juice. All the oil dependant autos in existance today could burn the rest of the oil available to humans as there is a limited supply on Earth. Our bank-centric government would definately benefit from releasing this hidden technology because buisness as usual could continue into the future. At the moment our way of life is diminishing do to a lack of energy resources. High energy prices killed economic growth, and the government would love more then anything to bring that back to life.
