LIVE and COLLECTIVE SOUL
With Special Guest Rocco Deluca and The Burden
LIVE - Live's signature mix of anthemic rockers, dynamic arrangements and spiritually aware lyrics continues to grow. Songs From Black Mountain was recorded with producer Jim Wirt (Incubus, Hoobastank) at a studio in Santa Barbara in May 2005 for what became a whirlwind session. The multi-platinum band recorded all 12 of the album's songs in a frenetic burst of creativity that surprised everyone. "We haven't recorded that quickly since Throwing Copper," Kowalczyk says. "When we got in the studio, we all slipped into the zone. We were working hard, but we were completely at ease, open to each other and in the flow. Everyone was awestruck by not only how fast we were recording, but also by how good it sounded."
COLLECTIVE SOUL - After four years out of the public eye, Collective Soul singer Ed Roland has a message for the world. “Let the word out/I gotta get it out. Whoa, I’m feeling better now,” he declares in “Better Now,” the energetic rocker that launches Youth, the Georgia rockers’ first studio album since 2000’s Blender.
After a seven-year run that that was highlighted by such rock radio smashes as the catchy as hell “Gel,” one of seven songs during that interval to go to #1 on the Billboard Rock Tracks charts, the omnipresent upbeat number “Shine,” the soaring ballad “The World I Know,” “Blame,” “December,” “Precious Declaration,” another rock radio chart-topper, and the list goes on and on, Collective Soul has learned a few things about writing memorable hooks. All of that experience went into the striking 11 songs on Youth, an album Ed describes as “a mixture of Dosage and the first CD, really poppy tunes and fun production.”
